A Success Story to Share

Hi! My name is Stacey. I live in Iowa and decided in April to join the Thirty-One family. I joined for several reasons: I loved all the products I saw in the catalog; I had never heard of Thirty-One before; I knew it would go over well in my area because no one else in my area had ever heard of it and the products are all not only cute, but very practical and affordable; and lastly, because my husband had been stressing out about being able to continue paying the bills with only his income. I'm very blessed to be a stay-at-home mom to our son, Cash.
After trying to get pregnant for what seemed an eternity, we finally succeeded in 2003 only to have many complications with the pregnancy, including APS (basically my blood is too thick to go through the umbilical cord) and I ended up with HELLP syndrome (severe eclampsia). Our first son (Johnny Weston) was born December 28, 2003 by emergency C-Section while we were in Knoxville, TN visiting my husband's family for Christmas. I was 30 weeks pregnant but Weston had stopped growing around 25 weeks. He weighed 1 lb 7.4 oz and was 12 1/2 inches long. He was the tiniest baby in the NICU but was doing better than the other babies until he was 9 days old. He passed at 12 days old on Jan 9, 2004 of staph infection. It took several years before my husband and I were both ready to try for another baby, then another year and a half on top of that to get pregnant again. Our due date with our second baby was March 3 (Weston's was March 7) so as much as I tried to leave it all in God's hands, it was stressful. I had an amazing doctor who took such wonderful care of me! With this pregnancy, I had to give myself blood-thinning shots (sooo not fun!) every day. I started showing signs of pre-eclampsia the beginning of February 2009 so Johnathon Cash was delivered via C-Section on February 6. He was 4 lbs 3.4 oz and very healthy. It's so crazy to think that he's going to be two years old in less than two months! I have loved every second of being home with him for the past 22 months.
Thanks to Thirty-One, I know that I will be able to continue to be a stay-at-home mom. I have been able to put gas in my car and buy birthday and Christmas presents for our family and friends this year. While that's not been an overly huge help to my husband, the growth of my business in the past 3 months has shown us both that I CAN do this! And I know 2011 is going to be a phenomenal year for me with Thirty-One!
I am trying not to go too crazy with goal-setting but instead have been reminding myself to set small, totally obtainable goals so I don't become overwhelmed and discouraged. A couple of my goals are (1) make Senior Consultant (and I'm almost there!) and (2) have enough sales to take over a couple of our monthly bills so my husband doesn't have to work so much overtime and can spend more time with me and Cash.

I can't say that I've really done anything special to have the success that I have the past three months. I believe that God knew we needed the money for Christmas and in allowing me to come into contact with the wonderful women I've had as hostesses the past few months, He has filled that need!
I will say that I am totally NOT pushy at all at my parties. After my first two parties, I decided to throw away my presentation because I noticed that the guests eyes were glazing over when I started talking about the products. What I do instead is start off with a fun game (usually the winner and the loser get a small gift) then I go over the special, have people fill out a Guest Care Card (if you don't have this document from Tammy, get it!!!) then tell them to go ahead and look through the catalog, come up and play with the bags and accessories and feel free to ask me any questions. I noticed a jump in my sales after switching to this format. I've had people book a party with me and tell me they were booking because they not only loved the products but they loved that I didn't push them to have a party. My philosophy is "if they're interested, they'll let me know". While that may not work for everyone, it certainly has for me. The Guest Care Card is an awesome addition to my parties. Tammy sent me the document to print off and I was hooked! I use that in place of the door prize pad that we can purchase in the business supplies. I love that people can circle their level of interest so I know they absolutely are NOT interested, they ARE interested or maybe their level of interest is somewhere in the middle. In that case, I question them about hosting a party and so far every person who has been somewhere in the middle has booked! Usually it's just a matter of them not wanting to have a party that same month, but rather the next month. Or they want to know what the hostess special is before booking.

I know I've rambled on a bit (I am pretty chatty! LOL), so I'll end this with a few things I think are key to making your business successful:

* Try a few different things out at your party to find what works for YOU. What works for one of us, will not necessarily work for all of us!
* Use the Guest Care Cards for your door prize drawings, then get future parties booked in person THAT NIGHT!
* Always, always, always carry catalogs with you and reach out to those around you! When you pay a bill or go to the bank, ask the lady who's helping you if she has ever heard of Thirty-One and give her a catalog. I've gotten some great orders this way! Even if it doesn't lead into a party, those outside orders can be crucial to your success!
* Hold your hostess's hand! Make sure you are making your three (or more!) calls leading up to the party. Even if you already went over everything during the 2nd call, still get that third call in just to let her know you're there for her! I call my hostesses at least 3 times before their party plus I send them a couple emails.
* Send a thank you asap after the party! And I mean by mail. It's a very thoughtful gesture that no one really expects any more. Your hostesses will remember you!
* Join the Yahoo group if you haven't already! I learned sooo much just from reading posts in there when I first started with Thirty-One. Make sure you are using your upline and Home Office for questions, too.

Well, I could keep going on (I told you I'm chatty!) but I'm going to end this here. While I may not be your direct upline, I truly believe that we are one big family so if anyone ever needs anything, don't hesitate to email me! partywithstacey@hotmail.com

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and pray that 2011 is the best year you've ever had!

GROWING-GROWING-GROWING

I cannot believe how much our team has grown. The bigger we get the better incentives I can offer to all you ladies for working so hard. So the growth is a good thing and it makes me very excited.

Don't forget that the top sales person for October and November is getting a $20 GC from me to use on whatever they need. I will get it from your web page and have it sent to you!

Try to book at least 2 shows before the December 13th cut off. And then work to book those January shows. It will most likely be our Annual thermal tote sale in January and this is a favorite with the costumers. And if tradition stays true, there will be an incentive from the company to get $500 by January 15. I don't know this for a fact but they have done this every year for a while now. So think about doing a catalog show on your own starting January 1 to sell those thermals and try to get the $500 by January 15. Just thinking ahead ladies.....

Good luck and let me or your own upline know if you need anything!

Sharing Vending Shows

Hey Ladies,
Here are a few guide lines to ensure fairness when splitting a vending show. (these are from me and not from head office)

1. Whoever turns in the Trade show agreement form needs to order the catalogs and then both of you need to split the shipping and tax that is over the gift certificate.
2. Make it clear and simple at the show- Whatever leads or sales you make- you keep!
3. If doing a drawing you need to decide ahead of time how you will split the leads from the drawing. If you can not agree then each of you do your own drawing.
4. If the show ask for a donation for a raffle then EACH of you needs to give something to keep it fair.
5. Act like a team not each others competition.

I recently heard of a couple ladies doing a show together. One lady was snowballed by the other and walked away with no sales and no leads. I hope that will never be you. On either side...so make sure you decide before sharing a show how you want to handle it. And if you don't feel comfortable, then don't do it.

Good luck booking those shows, open houses and markets this Holiday Season! And remember I am looking for a top sales person for October AND November!

Check out Thirty-One Today and next incentive!

Hello Ladies,

I hope you will check out http://www.thirtyonetoday.com/ today and see all the latest updates. There is a really important video that you need to check out so you can be prepared for the busy Christmas/Holiday Season. Be prepared so you are not stressed. My first year with 31 I did not prepare well and was up Christmas Eve looking for customer orders! Don't get behind. I would have your last order sent off by December 10...even though we have until the 13th, I do not place orders on that last day!

Really check the back office often for stop sell items as we are in our BUSIEST SEASON of the year. Our company will do as much in sales this OCTOBER as the ENTIRE 2009 year of sales...that is incredible! So be on your toes.

Now, for fun stuff. The top sales person for October and November will receive a $20 gift certificate to use any way they like. I will purchase it from YOUR web page so you can also make commission off it!

So keep up the good work ladies! And call me any time if you have any questions.

Copy of letter I give to Potential Consultants (Make it yours)

Why Not You?

I love setting my own hours and being free from the 9-5 grind.
Why Not You?
I love making extra money for gifts, house remodeling and vacations.
Why Not You?
I love meeting people and creating unique relationships in my own city.
Why Not You?
I love being a business woman and having something to call my own.
Why Not You?

Dear Potential new consultant,

My name is Tammy and I began with Thirty-One gifts back in 2006, right after I became a first time mother. I loved working and taught for 8 years, but knew that once I became a mother, I would stay home during the beginning stages of my children’s lives. That is when I was introduced to Thirty-One Gifts and immediately knew this was the company for me.

From amazing support, to easy goals that any wife, mother or career driven woman could keep up with. As well as products I could be proud of to not only sell to the public but to my friends and family- it was an easy “Yes”!

It was simple. I called my consultant (or you can go on line on my web site below) and signed up within a week of getting my catalog. I immediately contacted friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and church friends and asked them to help me start my new journey. By the time my kit arrived, I had a handful of parties ready to go and in no time at all I was on my way.

That was over 4 years ago and the fun has not stopped. This year I started working on building my own team and would love for you to consider joining me. You can find out more at www.workfromhomewith31.blogspot.com. On my blog you will find a list of commonly asked questions. But of course you can also call me at 850-545-5153 at any time.

Thank you for the chance to share this wonderful opportunity with you and I hope to make you a part of the family soon.

Your Founding 31 Gifts Consultant,
Tammy Pulsifer tammythirtyone@aol.com and www.mythirtyone.com/simplify

Some Changes- Our Team Name

As you can see there are some great changes. I spoke to a fellow consultant who did go to conference. She said a lot of things did stay, so hopefully you won't have to change over too much. If there is something that is discontinued, I always sell these off to pay for more samples.

We don't know where conference will be next year, but plan on jumping in with me and Gina and trying to earn your way next year. Every January they do an inscentive for you to try and earn your trip for free. If it's not too far away, I plan to go. This year I earned almost the entire trip for free, but it was too far away. So we will see for next year!

We need a team name, so let's throw out some ideas. We will decide on one and hopefully by this time next year, be cheering with each other at Conference!

Auction Game

During my party last week, I had someone in the room be a banker and tell them they could give out as much or little money as they wanted for each question that someone asked or good ideas they shared for products. Then in the middle of my presentation, I held up different items and asked for different, "outside the box" ways to use the items. (they got money for each idea) Then I had a question time where they could ask me questions about me and the company. The better the questions, the more money they got.

At the end of the night, I had 3 goodie bags, full of different fun items, and I auctioned them off. But as each person "won" a bag, they could not open it. Because the next person to win, could either steal a bag, or get the one up for grabs. Only after all the bags were gone could they open their bag. It was fun to watch them go after the bags.

Bags contained a lot of different fun things from the dollar bins at Micheals and Target. Candy and mabey one 31 item. (those pens on the business supply list are only $2.50 for 5 and make great prizes) Each bags contained about $2 worth of stuff...DON'T SPEND TOO MUCH ON PRIZES! it's all about the fun anyways....

Fun Game- Just fill a Thermal Tote with these candies and read the poem....or do your own thing!

How Sweet It Is...

If you're in a CRUNCH (Crunch bar)
And you need MORE MONEY (M&M's - MM = more money)
And it is 2 weeks 'til PAYDAY (Payday)
And an extra GRAND will help (100 Grand Bar)
Then I have a great opportunity for you!

Whether you would like to make a LITTLE MORE MONEY (mini M&M's)
Or a lot MORE MONEY (regular M&M's)
Or need an extra PAYDAY (Payday)
Whatever you decide Thirty-One has what's just right for you!!

This is the time

Don't be afraid to call people you don't talk to very often. So many people are willing to support you in any new adventure of life.
The worst they can do is say no! The average is for every 9 no's in life you get one yes! So don't waste them....:)
If you are having trouble getting going, don't leave it to e-mails. Make those phone calls today. Keep your catalogs on hand and look for that trendy mom in wal-mart or around town. Who knows, your best Hostess could be in the next check out aisle.
